My first logo design. 

Manekineko — is a common Japanese figurine which is often believed to bring good luck/money to the owner. I thought that it's gonna be a nice symbol of a Japanese goods store. At first I've sketched the cat design on paper then transfered it to Figma. 

After changing a few things and choosing colors I was thinking about the name and fonts. For Japanese language I went with "Kiwi Maru" which is modern round JP font that brings joy and friendliness. For English translation I've used  "Kosugi Maru" to keep the same joyfull JP vibe. Red stripe between the original word and the translation separates and connects them at the same time. 

At the end I've placed the texture of traditional Japanese paper called "washi" as background. It's known for it's high quality and standards.
